Personal Gardening Assistant Interface
This project is from a course HCDE 455 User Interface Design at the University of Washington. The course first provided our team with an interface project to design by the professor. The class also provided education about what goes into "good" and "bad" interface design. Taking what we learned from there lectures, our team used this information to inform our project
|
Our team worked together to design an interface to help assist gardeners with the upkeep of their garden in order to make the process of gardening easy, efficient, and more enjoyable.
Through 10 weeks for this project, we tried to create a product that fulfilled the four main requirements of a good interface: intuitive, effective, efficient, and likeable. |
Problem Statement
The problem we are trying to solve is that gardening takes up a lot of time, effort, and requires an immense amount of knowledge to be successful. It is not easy to start a garden and get a bountiful harvest or make your backyard beautiful, because things like soil quality, water levels, and sunlight all have massive impacts on the health of a plant.
(We figured out this problem from user research. Please see the process.) Here is a video to describe the problem. |
